London i december 2018.
Plats
Wells Mews i Westminster, London.

🇬🇧 Two new images of James
The first, square-shaped, image has a relatively simple light set; Lighting: Ambient light and one flash, SB5000 with a small softbox at the top right controlled by the camera via the radio TTL, just outside the image. The flash is aimed in order to create some shadows and add some character to the face.
The second image has a slightly more developed lighting.
A flash with a blue gel at a distance of roughly 5 meters is added to the setting. The background, the back street Wells Mews, is underexposed with one step.
Equipment
Camera: Nikon D500 with AF-S Nikkor 24-120mm f/4G ED VR
Flash: One Nikon SB5000 together with a softbox, size about 50cm and, in the second picture another SB5000 with a blue gel.
Location
Wells Mews in Westminster, London.

Amber 2

Plats
Wells Mews i Westminster, London.

🇬🇧 The second picture of Amber was taken a few moments after the previous one. This time I asked Amber to look straight into the camera. The intention was to create more intensive contact with the viewer.
Lighting: Ambient light and one flash, SB5000 with a small softbox at the top right controlled by the camera via the radio TTL. The background, the back street Wells Mews, is underexposed with one step.
Equipment
Camera: Nikon D500 with AF-S Nikkor 105mm f / 1.4E ED. A great lens. Sharp and capable of generating a nice soft background. I used the largest aperture f / 1.4 for the shortest possible depth of field.
Flash: One Nikon SB5000 together with a softbox, size about 50cm.
Location
Wells Mews in Westminster, London.

Amber

🇬🇧 The portrait of Amber was taken on a back street a few blocks from Oxford Circus. I asked Amber to look up to the right so that she and her mirror image would look in different directions. The mirror image has been rendered darker in post-treatment in order to preserve the main direction of the image.
Lighting, a small softbox at the top right controlled by the camera via the radio TTL. The background, the back street Wells Mews, is underexposed with one step.

James

Utrustning
Kamera: Nikon D500 with AF-S Nikkor 24-120 f/4G ED VR @f/5 ISO 640
Blixt: Två Nikon SB5000
Plats
Wells Mews in Westminster, London.

🇬🇧 Trying to create some noir-feeling.
The main light comes from a small softbox at the top right controlled by the camera via radio TTL. The blue light on the wall, intended to create some drama, comes from a manually controlled flash set to full power, also controlled by the camera via radio link.

Portrait of a dear friend

Every morning my dog, Ella, and I go for a morning walk. One of our regular stops is at the end of the wooden pier, just south of Kalmar castle. I didn’t have access to a flash, it would have been handy, but who brings a flash when you walk the dog…? Click on picture for a large version.

Saga

The old cinema has closed for the Summer – but will be opened again in the Autumn. Saga is the oldest cinema still in use in Sweden and was opened in 1906. It is a small, wooden, building with room for just a small audience. Watching a film at Saga is more like visiting a private home than going to a traditional theater. Dispite it’s age and small size, the equipment is fairly modern with digital projectors and ok sound quality.
Saga is a common name for cinemas in Sweden along with names like Palladium, Röda Kvarn (Red Mill) – a translation of Moulin Rouge – Centrum and Rio. Click on picture for a larger version.

Portrait of a Zombie

We met at Stockholm Zombiewalk last year. Not a word was spoken. She just stopped in front of me and looked into my camera showing that it was ok to take a portrait. Click on picture for a large version.
Next Saturday, September 8, 2018, the zombies will one again fill the streets of Stockholm for a few hours. Visit if you can. More zombies here

Portrait of a Painter

We met at a garden exhibition. I asked him if he had painted the pictures in the background. He said “yes” and I told him that I liked the paintings and his noir-style. He told me that he had lived a complicated life, but that he had always made paintings. Only two weeks ago he had met another painter who had inspired him to develop a new style. During the past two weeks he had worked intensively and could now present a range of paintings in his new style. Click on picture for a large version.

JAS 39C Gripen

JAS 39C Gripen at the F 7 Wing in Såtenäs, Sweden. Click on picture for a larger version. I have published this portrait of the Gripen before but this version was edited in Capture One wich, in my opinion, generates a highly improved image.
My intention was to show the maneuverability of the aircraft rather than create a detailed portrait. I have other more detailed portraits of the JAS 39C Gripen.

Cajsa – March 2018

Cajsa. Winter seems to be almost over and we are working in studio testing lighting and dresses for an upcoming project this summer. Main flash – Godox AD600 with a beauty dish – up right and a second flash – SB910 – behind Cajsa for separation. Both radio controlled in TTL-mode from camera. Click on picture for a larger version.
